January 27 Technique Class

This month the cards we made didn’t really involve a technique.  They were cards that popped up and folded a little differently.
Colors used were Peach Parfait with Poppy Parade, Riding Hood Red with Basic Gray and Pacific Point with Basic Black.  The ‘Always’ bird is a sliding pop-up.

January 12 – Stampin’ Up! Leadership in Nashville!

Who would have thought that there would be snow in Nashville?  Certainly not the people who live there!  Despite the snow I had a great time swapping, sharing, learning, touring, visiting with old friends and meeting new ones and stamping – of course!!
I had a wonderful roommate from Michigan – Lori Watson – whom I had just chatted with on-line.  She had participated in a lot of swaps and was very generous in sharing them all with me.  My swap card had a Valentine theme but could easily be modified for another occasion.  I used Blushing Bride for the base cardstock, did some embossing with the BigShot and added just a tiny bit of stamping – and a little bling too!

Jane and I (along with about 500 other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators) attended the Managers Reception at the Wild Horse Saloon.  Here we are with one of the numerous colourful characters that live there!  We enjoyed a lovely BBQ buffet supper and beverages included coke, lemonade, iced tea and water!

And when the conference was over, we were off to the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Theatre.  It was a very entertaining evening (even though I'm not a fan of country music).
