There was lots of time to visit and snack and talk of Christmas plans.
Faux Seersucker and Magic Pastels were the techniques for October.
Everyone wowed over the Magic Pastels. It was quite a transformation from a ‘pastelly’ coloured image to a really detailed looking image.
And the Faux Seersucker was so easy and really looked like seersucker fabric!
Next Technique class will be in January 2011. Christmas is only 2 months away! Get busy stamping & creating!!
From all reports it was the best yet! It was a busy day, but there was still plenty of time for swapping, visiting and fun!!
Most everyone finished all the projects and some went home with plans to make even more, for Christmas gift-giving.
The swaps were awesome! Some were Christmas themed, some were not. Some were quick and easy to create in quantities and some were more suited to just making 1 or 2. All in all – wonderful swaps… see for yourself
One was even a ‘hybrid’ gift card holder made with My Digital Studio and using the ornament punch.
Kim’s swap was the ‘Stamper’s Choice’ this time – lots of extra work involved.
We worked on projects all morning,
had almost an hour for lunch and then back at it with cards all afternoon.
We were surprisingly finished and out of the hall by 4:00!
Next ‘Fest’ day will be the third Saturday of May 2011. Set the day aside and join us!!
It isn’t a new background technique, but now that we have Frost White Shimmer Paint… Faux Mother of Pearl is a wonderful use for it.
Make sure and try this Technique with the Champagne Shimmer Paint – almost looks like gold leafing!
12 Cards - One for each Month!
There were 6 cards for the morning session and 6 more for the afternoon. Stamping went smoothly and everyone finished the cards they had come to make!
It was indeed a FULL day of stamping & creating, but I think we all survivied.
Projects included a silver tea light holder, a butterfly note pad, an 'Inchies Plus" art frame, a Pendant Note accordion card and a small photo frame.
We Smooch Spritzed lots - the gold and vanilla leave a very subtle shimmer - and also used the Log Cabin with one of the Folk Flower stencils.
And, we played with the new Presto Designer Series Paper getting different looks by painting, sponging, brayering and spritzing.
The new Bitty Punches with coordinating stamps and buttons looked cute on a several of the cards.
Butterflies were flying freely!
And thanks to Angie B. for sharing her 'On Time' door prize so the Awash With Flowers card could be completed. For some reason I left those stamps at home!
There were also some amazing cards swapped on Saturday - talented stampers were in attendance!
Thanks to everyone for pitching in at the end we even vacated the hall on time (actually 10 minutes ahead of schedule). It was a fun, but tiring day and I am looking forward to Fall Fest in October - I even have one project in mind!! Hope you will put it on your calendar.
