November 7/2014, Christmas Cards in Arizona

Another fun time of making cards with friends, this time with Judi & Catherine at a stamp store in Chandler – Craft Fusion.

Most of the stamps, techniques, inks and embellishments we used were Ranger products – Tim Holtz kind of things.  Dana was the teacher – super nice and very helpful – and the cards were gorgeous!!  Oh, and of course, the store had ‘nothing’ I needed!!

November 4/2014 Cards in Arizona!

Yes, I am in the warm south.  (Sorry all you snowbound freezing people!)  And I found a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Holly, who was having a class at just the right time.  Catherine (who travelled down with me) and I attended and had great fun as well as learning a few new techniques!

Here are the cards we made…

Crisp Cantaloupe with a Touch of Soft Suede sponged on the edges of the images for the birthday card.  For the Christmas Card we first heat embossed images on Shimmery white paper and then used an aqua pen with Marina Mist ink to paint over.

The three wreath images were inked with different greens and all images were die cut. Stampin’ Up! has made it very easy to line up the images and the dies.  The last Christmas card was a little time consuming to make (it’s not going to be one of the 3 Quick Cards!), but very easy and well worth the time spent.

June 1, Empty Shelves!!

There are lots of new stamp sets on my wish list, but with the retiring list being so large I have empty spots on the shelves.  This is a bonus for you… check out my Garage Sale stamps – there are quite a few!!

July 13-16 Stampin’ Up! Convention

Time to head to Salt Lake City for the annual SU Convention.  It is always great fun and this year was no exception.  Had a wonderful roomie again this year (Hey Marilyn!!).  The local businesses always make us feel welcome…

 11 Convention 034

We both spent lots of time with our friend and up-line Jane.  For some reason both Jane & Marilyn thought they were always waiting on me, whereas I thought they both always had their times wrong! :)

11 Convention 036

Stampin’ Up! has a wonderful way of showcasing the products in Memento Mall that we can buy to help our businesses…

Lively entertainment opens the first morning of convention (really wakes us up!) and this year was no exception with stamping lyrics sung with a reggae beat.  We always look forward to seeing the latest fashions on stage and especially the shoe styles.  (I know – not stamps, but still interesting!)  This year not only was Shelley stylin’ but so was her daughter Sara and her granddaughter SIdney too!

All too soon it’s all over and when that happens and the last photo is needing to be taken, this is sometimes what you get!!

March 14 Cards in the Library - NOT

It was supposed to be card-making in the library this Monday but I got a last-minute (seat sale) invite from a friend to travel with her to France!!  What an opportunity!!!  I would never have met June if I had not become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  I was introduced to her on-line by a SU Demo I contacted while visiting South Carolina (who would have thought I would have to travel so far to meet someone so close!).  My husband was golfing and I was stamping – fun was had by all!
Anyway, it was only 9 days but it was Villefranche-sur-Mer in Provence and it was warm and June was a wonderful guide and interpreter.  The days flew by too quickly.

No Stamping in November!

And that was only because warmer weather beckoned.  Here are a few photos of what I was enjoying when the first snow fell in Devon…
AZ Holidays 152      Sunshine, palm trees, a pool in the background!!
AZ Holidays 157     There is greenery in the desert (besides the cactus) and mountains too.
AZ Holidays 220     Sedona is north of Phoenix – lots of beautiful red rocks!
AZ Holidays 260     The sunsets are wonderful and nothing says ‘Arizona’ better, than the Saguaro cactus.
Unfortunately it was cool for Arizona weather, but fortunately it was warmer than it was here!!!
