As promised, three more techniques to take your embossing folders way beyond simple embossing. This time we used a folder as a stamp, double embossed with two different folders and created a ‘Peek-A-Boo’ card.
Three Quick Cards. And with just over 3 months until Christmas, one of them had to be a Christmas card!!
Come join us October 15. The class is in the Devon Library from 7-8 p.m.
Yes, three more techniques with the folders. And there are still more for September! This time we made our own butterfly embossing folder, created a stained glass look and made a plaid background.
You would have thought that embossing folders were just for embossing cardstock. NOT. There are SO many other things you can do with them. At this class we only did 3 techniques but there are more to come in August! There were just too many for one class. And this is the third class with the folders already! Wax crayon resist, kissing and Core’dination embossing were the techniques we used for the three cards we made.
Join us in August and learn more uses for your embossing folders.
Yes you do!! Spend $60 on any current Stampin’ Up! products then order the exclusive ‘Reason to Smile’ stamp set for just $5 (valued up to $25.95). This set is only available until July 31, so place your order before the end of the month and get your smile on!!
Saturday, August 11 in the Devon Library there will be a Buffet of Christmas Cards. There will be 20 designs to choose from. You decide which ones you want to do and how many of each. If you can spend the day you can do lots, but if you only have a few hours then you can just do a few. You get to choose! Each card will be $2.75.
Let me know well before August 2 that you are interested in attending and I will send you the link to an online photo album showing all the cards. You must sent me your choices by August 2.
Here is a teaser of 3 of the cards we will be doing…
Marbled Embossing Powder
An old technique updated to use with current product. We melted colored embossing powder into a base of clear to come up with a beautiful marbled look.
It was a whirlwind of cardmaking with 2 stampers making over 40 cards!! Time for lunch and still finishing before 3:00.
We used some sets that are retiring – Trendy Trees, Medallion, Live Laugh Love and Season of Friendship.
We also used some accessories that are leaving us - In Colors, Designer Series Paper, Finial Press embossing folder and Whisper White grosgrain ribbon. But, we used the new Framelits, Blossom Punch and the oval Embossing Folder so a few new things along with the old.
I was lucky to be invited to the first ever Scraptastic weekend at Riverview School in Devon. It was a fundraiser for a new playground at the school. Scrappers arrived Friday evening and most stayed till almost midnight. The same thing happened Saturday with doors opening at 9:00 a.m. Meals were provided as part of the registration fee and they were awesome!! Saturday morning started with muffins, coffee and fruit. Then class time or scrapping followed by lunch. There was a choice of 3 homemade soups – Chicken Tortilla and Corn Chowder were the two I tasted and they were great – and cake and a fruit plate for dessert. I didn’t stay for supper as my class was finished before lunch but I heard that Pulled Pork and homemade Black Forest cake was on the menu!!
The class I did was Saturday morning and it was a 6x6” Mini Fold Out Album. Very quick & easy to make, but harder to plan the photo layout and embellishments.
There was a place for eight photos but I just used seven. And as primarily a cardmaker, I have yet to do any journaling, but I will!!
