December 11 & 13/2017 Time for Tags!
November 25/2017 Christmas Card Buffet
It was the last Buffet for this year with a variety of cards. There were traditional Christmas colours and designs to a few different colours and non-traditional designs.
The tea latte with the tiny tea bag turned into a cappuccino by simply removing the tea bag. The glimmer on the big snowflake unfortunately doesn't show in the photo.
Similarly the sparkle on the topiary, birch trees and Noel didn’t photograph well. But, they were all very pretty and kept everyone busy creating!
November 6 & 8/2017 3 Quick Cards
Who said we can’t have flowers in the snow in November? And a masculine card too!!
Here are November's 3 Quick Cards.
October 28/2017 A Stamping Retreat and Mini Christmas Buffet
We had a wonderful day of getting together with friends, enjoying a potluck lunch and doing a little paper crafting.
There were 5 Christmas cards to choose from - just in case the attendees had no unfinished projects of their own to work on. (Wouldn’t that be nice – nothing unfinished!)
Here are the cards…
This could easily be an All Occasion Card… substitute ‘Be Merry’ for other words and you have a perfect masculine card.
Everything glittered on this card from the flowers & leaves to the layer behind the lattice die cut.
With a little sponging and ‘direct to paper’ with an ink pad we created an easy night scene with silver embossing.
It’s really hard to see the gorgeous glitter on the crumb cake tree and star, but believe me it is there. It was done with a Wink of Stella.
A very simple card with glitter on the roof tops, in the ‘snow drifts’ and up in the sky. All done using the fine tip glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
October 11 & 16/2017 3 Quick Cards
A different colour combination (for me), a punch used creatively and a few die cuts led to three pretty All Occasion cards,
September 30 & October 1/ 2017 Embossing Paste, with a Few Twists!!
We started out pretty simply with a couple of cards cased from the Annual Catalogue using the embossing paste with a stencil and then coloring the paste with a reinker and using it again with a stencil. Then we got creative by applying the paste with the palette knife to the stamped ‘cappuccino foam’ image from the ‘Coffee CafĂ©’ stamp set. It was a happy accident when the ‘coffee’ leaked through the ‘foam’!! Then we mixed the paste with Dazzling Diamonds glitter and applied it to the tree to add a bit of snow to the image.
I showed a couple of samples made using stencils created from our dies and demonstrated another technique using the paste and an embossing folder.
Contact me if you have questions or would like to order some of these products.
September 11 & 13/2017 3 Quick Cards
They were all designed with the words ‘Happy Birthday’ but some became ‘Thank You’ cards; some were ‘Thinking of You’; some brothers, uncles and husbands became the ‘World’s Greatest’ and a few were left blank to wait for the right occasion.
August 26 & 27/2017 Christmas in August–A Card Buffet
Oh so many lovely dies and stamp sets and embossing folders!! We were busy all day (and some came the next day too), but did manage to finish all the cards.
Some were traditional, some were elegant, one was an ‘oldie but a goodie’, one used a stamp from a Halloween set and there was even a Christmas Rose. AND, ALL of them used the Bigshot in one way or another.
Watch for the next ‘Mini Christmas Buffet’ coming on October 28 at the All Day Stamp Retreat . Be sure and save the date!
August 20, 2017 A Christmas Card Buffet
Here's one of them…
August 14 & 16/2017 3 Quick Cards
July 29 & 30/2017 Christmas in July
Lots of dies were used, some of the new In Colors, as well as new ribbons and even a brand new stamp set (with coordinating dies) – ‘Carols of Christmas’. It will be in the Holiday Mini catalogue that comes out in September BUT… if you want to start working with it right away, you will be able to purchase it and the dies separately or as a bundle on August 1. Just let me know as soon as you can. I think it is going to be very popular which can possibly lead to back orders – just sayin’.
These two cards feature the dies and one of the stamps from the set.
These are the clean and simple ones – but oh so pretty!
And a couple that are sort of ‘vintagey’ (making up my own words!).
