September 12, Card Making in the Devon Library

Three quick cards – one that could be Thanksgiving or Fall or any Occasion, one that could be Christmas, Birthday or Masculine and another one that could be Fall or Thanksgiving or any Occasion.  As always, just change the sentiment and create the card for the required Occasion.

August 25, Technique Class

Wax On Wax Off! We used wax paper and a wax crayon to do 4 different resists.  Some people got a surprise, an unexpected technique while creating a sample.  Who knew the small sample paper would create a frame around the center of the ‘tie-dye’ resist!  Bonus!!

Here are some samples from several years ago (seven!!, where does the time go??) that we created in a Stamp Camp.  The giraffe and snowflake used wax paper for the resist and the leaves used a wax crayon.

August 13 and 20 - It’s Christmas in August with a Card Buffet

First in Devon, then in Edmonton… 24 stampers chose their cards and (for the most part) completed them!  Some were plain and simple and some involved a little more work but all turned out really nice.  One of them was a surprise to everyone as it used new tools from the Holiday Mini – available September 1.  If you would like to see the mini check out my website (after September 1) or send me an email and I’ll get one to you.
Thanks to Audrey and Holly in Devon for helping to set up and clean up – the day went by very quickly.  And… thanks to Kim and Marlene (and Gary too!!) in Edmonton for ‘sharing’ their workspace.

July 28, Technique Class

This month we created the look of ‘Faux Shimmery Silk’ in two different ways.  One used Shimmer Paint and the other Smooch Spritz.

July 23, New Things!

Had a great time in Salt Lake City at the annual Stampin’ Up! Convention learning new things, seeing new things and swapping cards to get new ideas.  This stamp camp used those new ideas, new stamp sets, new papers, new tools and a card from the new ‘Great Day’ Simply Sent kit .

July 19 Stampin’ in the City

Had a great afternoon with some seniors in the city making a Christmas card and demonstrating how easy it is to create home-made gift wrap from plain white tissue paper.  Thank you Jean for inviting me to join you!

Here is the card we created, very plain and simple but also very pretty.

July 13-16 Stampin’ Up! Convention

Time to head to Salt Lake City for the annual SU Convention.  It is always great fun and this year was no exception.  Had a wonderful roomie again this year (Hey Marilyn!!).  The local businesses always make us feel welcome…

 11 Convention 034

We both spent lots of time with our friend and up-line Jane.  For some reason both Jane & Marilyn thought they were always waiting on me, whereas I thought they both always had their times wrong! :)

11 Convention 036

Stampin’ Up! has a wonderful way of showcasing the products in Memento Mall that we can buy to help our businesses…

Lively entertainment opens the first morning of convention (really wakes us up!) and this year was no exception with stamping lyrics sung with a reggae beat.  We always look forward to seeing the latest fashions on stage and especially the shoe styles.  (I know – not stamps, but still interesting!)  This year not only was Shelley stylin’ but so was her daughter Sara and her granddaughter SIdney too!

All too soon it’s all over and when that happens and the last photo is needing to be taken, this is sometimes what you get!!
