June 3/2015, Bookmark Card

June 1 was the beginning of Seniors Week in Alberta.  This year we gathered at my house to make a card that included a bookmark. It was folded over the front of the card and had magnets at the bottom to keep it in place.  We stamped the Delightful DIjon card front with the Comer Garden big background stamp and used it twice to cover the full card.

May 11/2015 Three Quick Cards

This month the focus was on masculine cards – for birthdays or for Father’s Day.  All were very quick and simple.

April 13/2015 Three Quick Cards

Yes, back in the Devon Library with 3 quick and easy cards.  They were all suitable for Mother’s Day with just a change in the stamped greeting - even the birthday card!  Just changed the candles to a butterfly and ‘cake day’ to Mother’s Day.

November 7/2014, Christmas Cards in Arizona

Another fun time of making cards with friends, this time with Judi & Catherine at a stamp store in Chandler – Craft Fusion.

Most of the stamps, techniques, inks and embellishments we used were Ranger products – Tim Holtz kind of things.  Dana was the teacher – super nice and very helpful – and the cards were gorgeous!!  Oh, and of course, the store had ‘nothing’ I needed!!

November 4/2014 Cards in Arizona!

Yes, I am in the warm south.  (Sorry all you snowbound freezing people!)  And I found a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Holly, who was having a class at just the right time.  Catherine (who travelled down with me) and I attended and had great fun as well as learning a few new techniques!

Here are the cards we made…

Crisp Cantaloupe with a Touch of Soft Suede sponged on the edges of the images for the birthday card.  For the Christmas Card we first heat embossed images on Shimmery white paper and then used an aqua pen with Marina Mist ink to paint over.

The three wreath images were inked with different greens and all images were die cut. Stampin’ Up! has made it very easy to line up the images and the dies.  The last Christmas card was a little time consuming to make (it’s not going to be one of the 3 Quick Cards!), but very easy and well worth the time spent.

October 25/2014 A Buffet of Christmas Cards!!

The last one for this year!  I love making Christmas cards so it’s sad that this is the last one of the year.  But it was another good one!!
Gold and silver and sparkly stars, black trees, white trees, grey trees, glimmery trees, washi tape, scraps of designer paper, an  elegant embossed ornament and a plain and simple stamped pine bough… all of these ideas packed into 10 cards!!

For these cards we used:

  • the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the mosaic pattern
  • the Honeycomb die – as a Stamp!
  • the Butterfly sizzlit
  • the new Tiny Triangles embossing folder and the Petite Petals punch.  Love how it coordinates with the Petite Petals stamp set!
