August 10/2015 3 Quick Cards

Just one more card with the Thinlit Word dies (well just one this month!).  And the butterfly die is so pretty especially dressed up with some coloured pearls.  Lastly focusing on the designer paper for You Make me Smile with additional splats of color!

August 8 & 9, 2015 4 Cards & DSP

So you saw the sneak peak of the 4 cards we were making with the English Garden Designer Series Paper.  Here are the full versions…
15-08 4 Cards & DSP 1 (480x640)  This one we made just BEEcause!!  Used lots of the new gold thread around the flowers and under the bee.
15-08 4 Cards & DSP 2 (480x640)     We cut a rectangle of the DSP in half vertically and horizontally, matted the pieces using 3 on the outside and the fourth on the inside. Added a little vellum butterfly and the result looked very nice!
15-08 4 Cards & DSP 3 (480x640) Usually when die cutting the butterfly I just use the butterfly.  But this time we put it back into the negative space with some of the designer paper underneath for a WOW look!!
15-08 4 Cards & DSP 4 (640x480)And lastly a masculine card with the very flowery paper and the new Brick embossing folder.  We used the brayer to make the flowers look like old wallpaper.  Went nicely with the card from ‘Guy Greetings’.

August 1/2015 A Sneak Peak

The next ‘4 Cards and DSP’ class is coming soon.  The paper we are using this time is ‘English Garden’.  It is VERY pretty!!  In this class you make 4 cards and take home 1/2 pack of the Designer Series Paper.  If you would like to attend either in Edmonton on August 8 (at 10am) or Devon on August 9 (at 1:00pm) let me know as soon as possible.  The deadline is Monday August 3.

Here is a peak at the 4 cards – and they are just little peaks!!!

July 18/2015 It’s Christmas in July!

Well at least it was in the Devon Library on Saturday and again in Edmonton on the following Sunday.  It was a Card Buffet.  There were 10 designs to choose from with the opportunity to make multiples of the cards you liked the best.

There was glitter and glitter paper, rhinestones, dazzling details and sequins, heat embossing, a little ‘fussy cutting’, some die cutting and a few bows to keep everyone on their toes!!  :)

The next Buffet will be on August 29 & 30 and there will be 10 different designs to choose from.  Contact me for more info.

July 13/2015 3 Quick Cards

I am really liking the thinlit word dies!  I think ‘Hello’ is my favorite – I seem to be using it a lot.  This card used the technique of inking the rubber stamp with a light color and then adding a darker color with a marker.  Everyone’s flower looked a little different.

A little ‘fussy cutting’ on the balloon card and just a tiny bit of coloring on the ‘Congratulations’ card and we were done within the allotted time – 1 hour!!

June 28/2015 4 Cards and DSP

A new kind of class where you make 4 cards using papers from one of the varieties of Designer Series Paper in the Catalogue AND… you get to take home 1/2 pack with you to continue making cards at home!!!

The first set of paper we used was Bohemian.  Striking colors and designs made for some nice cards.  Who knew a bird’s wing could look like a candle flame!  The Bohemian paper has a coordinating border stamp set.  It also has coordinating Washi tape which we used on the ‘Happy BIrthday to You’ card.  It’s hard to see, but that card also has the NEW really fine gold thread on it.

June 8/2015, 3 Quick Cards

Quick and Easy, well sort of!

One of the cards was an odd size – Just Sayin’ – so we made the envelope for it too.  That took just a little bit longer, but was really easy using the Stampin’ Up! Envelope Punch Board.  And we made a liner for the envelope – so easy and created a very interesting envelope.
